The spot export market for LDPE was quiet and steady on the week. There were bids at 66 cents/lb FAS Houston but offers talked well over 71 censt/lb FAS. Producers had no pressure to drop prices because if they could not sell in the higher priced domestic market they could cut production to sell ethylene. Spot ethylene was assessed Wednesday at 68 cents/lb. "It's the same story as it's been for a long time," a trader said.
