US spot propylene prices dropped week on week as the market continued to await contract settlements for April. Spot polymer-grade propylene led the way, moving down 3.50 cents/lb to a Friday assessment of 74.25-74.75 cents/lb delivered amid weak demand from downstream polypropylene. Spot refinery-grade assessments were down a quarter-cent at 70.75-71.25 cents/lb delivered, with several trades for April heard done this week at the 71-72 cents/lb range. No spot bids, offers, nor deals were heard for chemical-grade propylene, so the assessment was lowered 3.50 cents/lb to maintain the delta with PGP. The market closed the second week of April without a contract settlement for the month. Talk continued to center around a rollover to March, when PGP was priced at 77.50 cents/lb and CGP at 76 cents/lb.
