The Asian low density polyethylene market lacked direction this week as buyers and sellers could not agree on prices. LDPE was assessed unchanged week on week Wednesday at $1,415/mt CFR Far East Asia and $1,450/mt CFR Southeast Asia. Discussion was heard to be thin amid weak demand, while sellers were holding on to offers in excess of $1,420/mt CFR China. This was in line with other PE grades, as producers were striving to maintain their offers amid high feedstock costs.
