Asian paraxylene dived $60/mt or 3.73% day on day Friday to end the week at $1,528/mt FOB Korea and $1,548/mt CFR Taiwan/China, in line with plunging energy prices. Front month ICE Brent futures tumbled to $106.53/barrel at 4:30 pm Singapore time (0830 GMT), down $6.60/b or 5.83% from a day earlier. PX feedstock naphtha lost $61.50/mt day on day to close at $905.25/mt CFR Japan, while isomer- mixed xylene shed $73/mt over the same period to $1,274/mt CFR Taiwan. Offers for September arrival PX started off Friday at $1,600/mt CFR, but deteriorated to $1,565/mt CFR in the afternoon. Bids, on the other hand, rose from $1,540/mt CFR to $1,555/mt CFR, but no deals were closed.
