LLDPE prices into Brazil moved higher this week as traders pegged notional prices into the country in the low to mid- $1,500’s/mt on a CFR basis. The increase comes on the heels of higher Asian offers seen last week. Prices to the Andean countries were also higher this week as Latin sellers worked to push through a previously announced $100/mt price increase for August. Sources this week said that one seller was contemplating a second price increase, though confirmation was not immediately available. Sellers received support for the initial hike due to higher US offers and a dearth of Asian material available. However, recent declines in the global crude market could stifle a second increase.
