Demand for US ACN continued to fall this week as acrylicfiber has lost much of its price advantage over cotton fiber,sources said. “Fiber producers have really ratcheted downrates,” a source said. “Exporters to China are taking a waitand see approach. There still seems to be some demand in Turkey. But overall, fiber-side demand is probably down 15to 20 percent since the beginning of the year.” Anothersource attributed the downturn in ACN demand to aslowdown in the Chinese economy.
