Seasonally strong demand was a welcome change for producers and supported their 4 cents/lb April price initiative. One producer reported having already sold out of its April allocation, but another producer noted that while demand was up, it still was not great. Also, supply was still plentiful. The success or failure of the increase would depend on what happened with the month’s paraxylene contract that has not settled. If PX rolls over it would be difficult for producers to get an increase, sources said.
