Calgary-A cross-border feud has heated up,with Montana making a late attempt to block a coalbed methane lease auction in the southeast corner of British Columbia and stall the province's plans to start developing its estimated 90 Tcf of reserves.In a July 27 letter to Canada's Environment Minister Stephane Dion,Montana's Republican governor,Judy Martz,asked Ottawa to order an environmental assessment before B.C.can issue drilling rights to two land parcels in the East Kootenay coal fields.
