Small US refiner Frontier Oil said Feb 11 it spent US27-mil in the fourth quarter of 2003 to insulate itself from liability claims over alleged cancer-causing pollution from a former well on high school grounds in posh Beverly Hills,California.But CEO Jim Gibbs told analysts "'things are going really well for us" in that case."The claims really are without merit," Gibbs said,"but we are taking them seriously and are defending ourselves."
