Ivory Coast attempts to pique US companies' interest in 16 E&P blocks

Ivory Coast officials are trying to interest US oil companies in negotiating deals for the country's 16 so-called "open" onshore and offshore blocks not now under license, Levi Zadi Gourenne, managing director of state Petroci, said June 9. In a presentation at an oil conference here, Gourenne said four of the blocks are onshore, eight are in shallow wter and four are deepwater tracts of as much as 2,000 meters.
