The Platts daily US aluminumTransaction premium was unchanged againthis week at 6 cents/lb plus London Metal Exchangecash, delivered Midwest, with mostspot deals reported at that level.Some market sources reporteddiscounts to Platts on a formula basis, whichmay indicate further downside to go, butothers said a slightly stronger LME contango($18 cash-to-threes on September 2) andreplacement costs were keeping thepremium from falling any further.
