US LNG exports could hike gas prices by $1.40 by 2018: RBAC Consulting

RBAC Consulting, defying recent projections from other analysts, on Monday said exports of LNG from the US could raise Henry Hub prices more than $1.40 by 2018. The forecast compares with more bearish projections by the Energy Information Administration of a 60-cent price uptick and Deloitte's of about 22 cents in the same timeframe. "Given that the industry is de-gearing away from natural gas due to low prices, it is unreasonable to expect it to increase production by more than 5 Bcf/d between 2016 and 2018 without a substantial increase in price," the report's author, Dr. Robert Brooks, said.
