Philippines Nickel Asia sold 8.54million wet mt of nickel ore in the first half ofthe year, down 11.8% year on year, the companysaid in a report filed with the PhilippinesStock Exchange.“The drop in shipment volumes is theresult of a delayed start of shipments fromits Hinatuan and Cagdianao mines due to theprolonged rainy season and resulting seaswells in northeastern Mindanao, where thetwo mines are located, and a temporaryreduction in the deliveries of limonite ore tothe Taganito HPAL [high-pressure acidleach] plant while it was undergoingremedial work,” the company said.
