US Senator Christopher Dodd, one of the chief architects of file sweeping financial reform law President Barack Obama signed into law July 21, said Wednesday night that the law is in "peril" of being weakened if Republicans take control of Congress in next month's mid-term elections. Dodd, chairman of the Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, cautioned that changes Republicans might push for could create uncertainty in the financial system.
