Futures market runs on record crude;spot market mixed on regional weather

Record-breaking crude oil prices combined with mild weather across much of the US to throw market players the occasional curve ball this week, as the May NYMEX gas futures contract ascended day over day but daily gas prices at times leveled off.On Wednesday, the May contract gained ground for the third consecutive session, adding 22.8 cents to settle at $10.433/MMBtu. In the prior three sessions, the contract has gained a total of 53.2 cents, or 5.4% in value.
