Winter power burn set to tumble year over year

Platts Analytics' Bentek Energy forecasts national power burn demand to average approximately 22.3 Bcf/d in December, about 2.6 Bcf/d below December 2015 and 0.1 Bcf/d lower than the previous forecast for the month as higher gas prices cut into demand. Regional forecasts show year-over-year declines in power burn demand for all cells except the Northeast where demand is expected to average 0.2 Bcf/d higher than 2015.
