At the beginning of 2015 Stahl renamed its polymer brand Picassian~R into Stahl Polymers. We asked Michael Costello, Group Director of Stahl Polymers, five questions about the reasons behind the name change, the effect of the takeover of Clariant’s Advanced Surface Coatings Division and the future that lies ahead. “Picassian~R has been our trademark for our polymers since 2006. Thanks to the acquisition of Clariant’s Advance Surface Coatings Division and its renowned Relca~R products in 2014, we renewed our portfolio at the end of 2014. This was a very interesting period, as we could select the best of both worlds. The outcome was an exciting new portfolio of polyurethanes, acrylics, crosslinkers and additives. We felt that we embarked on a new era for our business. However, we were not sure about our brand name Picassian. We believed that we needed a new name that better reflects who we are, what we do and what we want to be. That is how our new brand name Stahl Polymers came up.
