Contractor expects a pretty good year ahead

Challenge is nothing new to pipe line contractors. Most of us expect to begin Y2K in about the same shape as we begin every year: 1. No work; 2. No profit; 3. A seven-figure overhead to cover. In other words, 2000 looks pretty good. But try to tell that to your bank. The industry continues to evolve under pressure from clients, agencies, and competition. (We poor-mouth a lot, but I suspect that this is true in one way or another in any industry.)
