Akzo Nobel AG (Arnhem,The Netherlands;www.akzonobel.com) has completed a 400,000-metric ton/yr expansion of its salt plant in Hengelo,Netherlands.With a total capacity of 2.4 million metric ton/yr,the facility is now the biggest vacuum salt factory in the world.It is operated by the company's base chemicals business.
