Ghirardi has proposed several ways of checking reduction mechanisms in perceptual processes by utilizing superposed photon states. While the specific experimental test may face some inherent problems, the basic conceptual approach, that the reduction mechanisms may be governed by nonlinear evolution laws, is not only valid, but naturally lends one to logically consider related experiments.
