摘要

The aim of the present study was to detect Brucella in milk produced from apparently healthyanimals in Egypt. Therefore, two hundreds bulk milk samples were collected from 4 cities at El-Gharbia andKafr El-Sheikh Governorates at summer and winter seasons and examined by cultural method and using milkring test as screen test. The isolated organisms from cultural method were identified biochemically, biotypingusing media contained basic fuchsin & thionin with different concentrations and serotyping usingmonospecific anti Brucella abortus and Brucella melitensis sera. 12 samples collected in summer seasons fromtwo cities proved to be contained Brucella antigen with Milk Ring Test while after culturing on specific mediaall positive MRT samples showed no colonies characteristic to Brucella organisms. On the other hand, in winterseason, 17 samples gave positive results with MRT and 5 of them gave the characteristic features of Brucellaorganisms after culturing on Brucella specific media. All isolated cultures were identified biochemically,serologically and biotyping using thionin and basic fuchsine dyes.
