Water reuse - key to sustainable water resources

According to the US Environment Protection Agency, 33 billion gallons of municipal wastewater are produced every day in the United States alone. Of that, less than ten percent is intentionally reused, such as water treated for the purpose of increasing the water pie, which replaces other water sources. Much of our reusable water is discharged to streams and rivers, where it becomes de facto reuse by downstream users and in many cases affects riverine ecology.
