Largest Cambi THP for Washington, DC

On July 6,2011, the Norwegian company Cambi signed a contract with the District of Columbia Sewer & Water Authority's (DC Water) to build the largest Cambi Thermal Hydrolyis Process plant at the Blue Plains Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant in the US capital city of Washington, DC. The Cambi process will produce biogas and Class A biosolids fertilizer product in a minimal area, saving capital and operational costs, compared to conventional digestion. The biogas will produce green electricity for the plant, significantly reducing its carbon footprint.
