摘要

Cambi AS of Norway will build its thermal hydrolysis process (THP) for an innovative digestion project at Aguas Andinas' wastewater treatment plant in Mapocho, Chile. The Degremont-AGBAR joint venture awarded the contract, which is a key component of an advanced digestion system that is part of a US$361-million wastewater upgrade and extension project in Santiago, Chile. Cambi THP will be a vital component in the efficient production of biogas from the sewage sludge that will be used to produce approximately 60 percent of the electricity needed to operate the entire wastewater treatment plant. The implementation of Cambi THP facilitates the overall goals of the total project in accordance with the Region of Santiago's sustainable development policy. The policy aims to restore the natural environment's water quality and to prepare the region for a population increase. The project involving Cambi THP will double the capacity of the wastewater plant and enable the treatment of a wastewater quantity equivalent to four million inhabitants.
