Modern pumps boost energy efficiency in drinking water supply

A secure water supply for customers is the top priority for the Ruhstorfer Group water supply company in Germany. Next in priority, however, is the reduction in power consumption by pump motors in the main pumping station. In 2016, the commissioning of a new facility and replacement of the original pumping system reduced energy use by 20 percent. The installation of energy efficient KSB Omega pumps with SuPremE® motors and a KSB PumpDrive variable speed system are key to the dramatic improvement in energy efficiency.
