The strength of the real against the dollar looks likely to continue to rise with the Brazilian government recently announcing a raft of measures to continue to encourage foreign investment in the country. These measures combined with the country's growing trade surplus ($44bn last year), and the high interest rates (approximately 16.5%, the highest in the world) on offer, mean that things could get worse for Brazil's exporters.
