1. Philippine yard Hanjin Heavy Industries, a subsidiary of Korean shipbuilding group Hanjin Heavy Industries, filed for court receivership at the beginning of 2019. This comes after the group's Busan yard ceased commercial shipbuilding operations in 2016, as part of a restructuring programme, to focus on building naval vessels. The Subic Bay shipyard, which delivered its first ship in 2008, currently has 16 vessels of 0.4m CGT on order, with the last vessel due for delivery in 2021. A number of parties are reportedly interested in taking over the yard, including Chinese state-owned interests, and the Philippine government.
