摘要

The global climate is a gigantic system cycling water and energy. A system is unstable and subject to breakdown if it evolves into a positive feedback. The Siphon Effect of the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau, as hypothesized by this paper, siphons water out of the center of the largest continent on Earth, Eurasia, and is a positive feedback process. If global warming is to be controlled, then, among other things, we have to collect moisture from the oceans, convert it into water and discharge it into the center of the Eurasian continent. In order to sustain the ecosystem, especially the biosphere of the Eurasian continent, water has to complete the cycle from ocean back to the center of the continent, which is now prevented by the Siphon Effect of the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau. In view of this analysis, the conceived Grand West Route project in China is the most promising solution proposed so far. It reduces global warming by cooling down the Eurasian landmass from the center and reverses a series of positive feedback processes.
