The opinions expressed in this report are those of the authors and not necessarily those of the European Patent Office (EPO). Background: The EPO has regularly attended this conference series since 2010 and has contributed with lectures and with joint exhibition stands with the Intellectual Property Publishing House (IPPH) of China. Christine Kammer coordinated the EPO attendance at CPAC2017. This 2017 edition, and future occurrences of the Conference are branded as the China Patent Annual Conference (formerly the Patent Information Annual Conference (PIAC)). The new branding was announced during the opening keynote session by the organisers as part of the intention to expand the scope of the conference, and to reflect China's current IP strategy.
