APACHE (Arms Propulsee A CHarge Ejectable) is a stand-off, submunition-dispensing modular cruise missile system developed by Matra (prime) and Aerospatiale (principle partner), now both part of MBDA. The system entered full-scale development in mid-1989 as a family of 1,200-kg modular weapons including the APACHE Anti-Piste, (APACHE AP) anti-runway version, APACHE Anti-Infrastructure (APACHE AI), designed to attack buildings, and the APACHE EG SCALP EG (Systeme de Croisere conventionnel Autonome a Longue Portee de Precision-Emploi General: Conventional autonomous long-range cruise missile system-General Use).
