Jericho

Jericho is the name given to a family of ballistic missiles developed by Israel. The original Jericho I was developed as part of a French-Israeli program in the 1960s that was ended in 1968. Jericho II is an extended range version first fielded in 1981. Jericho 1IB is a further elaboration on the Jericho II offering better range. Israel's ballistic missile effort has often been undertaken in cooperation with other countries, including Iran in the 1970s, and South Africa in the 1980s.
