After years of delay, the Meteor program is finally reaching its industrialization phase with serial production expected to begin in 2012 and integration testing finally underway. Now that engineering is nearing completion, the partners will have to come up with the funding for integration on the Eurofighter as well as to ensure political support for eventual acquisition. There have been continual slips in the initial service date with Sweden and Britain expecting service deployment in 2015 and France in 2018.
