This digest provides a compilation of short reports on two categories of antiship missiles: legacy systems which may still be in service but are no longer in production, and future programs which are under discussion but have not yet received enough funding to merit a full report. The Indian navy has been sponsoring the license production of a modified version of the Russian Yakhont antiship missile in India under the name Brahmos (after the Brahmaputra and Moskva rivers). The program is a joint venture between NPO mashinostroyenie in Russian and DRDO in India. The initial Indian investment was Rs 1.25 billion with Rs 750 million coming from the BrahMos consortium, and Rs 250 million each from DRDO and the Indian Space Research Development Organization.
