Skysword 1 (Tien Chein I) is a short-range, infrared (IR) homing air-to-air missile in production in Taiwan for use with that country's air force. The missile is based on the AIM-9N Sidewinder. The missile is believed to have reached regular production in 1989 and entered service in 1991. In 1997, it was announced that the Antelope SAM version would be manufactured starting in late 1997, with six batteries planned.
