The just under two-year-old French tannery machinery builder Turner, springing from the now defunct Mercier Turner Company, has quickly made its mark in the industry. The name Turner rather than Mercier was chosen to break from an image of past failure and to link with a name symbolic with the historic American machine makers' who had the imagination to transform tanning from artisan manufacture into a truly industrial activity.
