Beijing-based chromium producer BlueStar Group has eliminated all toxic residues from its chromium chemical production in its Henan province plant.rnThe company claims to have launched the world's first pollution-free 10,000-ton chromium chemical project, with the help of the Chinese Academy of Science.rnThe manufacture of chromium chemicals typically results in the production of highly toxic residues, which can cause serious water, soil and air pollution.rnBlueStar's new unit is said to consume 20% less power and produce 80% less chromium residue than typical producers.rnFurthermore, the residue that is produced can be used to make other products. Therefore, utilisation of resources is said to be higher than 98%. Not only does the plant offer environmental benefits, it could also lead to improved profit margins.
