Tannery of the Year Europe 2010: Nominations

Tannery of the Year aims to recognise best practice in terms of environmental stewardship,rnsustainability and social responsibility in the global tanning industry. As well as best corporate practice, this includes labour policies and tanneries' relations with local communities. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a combination of all these ideas.rnFor many years, the leather industry was reluctant to fight back against criticism that it was paying too little attention to CSR, but the Tannery of the Year concept proves that there are excellent examples all across the world of companies in the leather industry that work hard to help the communities with whom they share resources, and to minimise the impact they have on the earth.
