According to France's national statistics office (INSEE), a fall in demand for leather and textile goods has led to an overall decline in the consumption of manufactured goods in the country. Consumption of manufactured goods fell 1.2% in February, with leather and textile consumption falling 5.4%. However, the decline was partly attributed to the number of days included in the comparison, which were slightly less compared with February 2009 figures.
