Belle International chairman hospitalised

Footwear firm Belle International has announced that its founder and chairman, Tang Yiu, has suffered a stroke and has been hospitalised. He is reported to be in a stable condition and the company said it believes Mr Tang will "recover gradually". In view of his current condition, the board of Belle International has appointed chief executive, Sheng Baijiao, as acting chairman of the company with effect from April 25. The Hong Kong-based company said in a statement: "Given the company's strong and stable management team, the board is confident that the company's operations will not be adversely affected by Mr Tane's current condition."
