Copyrights: CJEU Delivers Premier League Decision -Free Movement Reinforced, But Copyright Questions Remain

On October 4, 2011, the Court of Justice of the European Union handed down its judgment in the joined cases of Football Association Premier League v. QC Leisure and Murphy v. Media Protection Services Ltd. The cases concerned the use of foreign decoder devices in the UK to access foreign broadcast signals showing live footage of the English Premiership football games (see "Advocate General Shows Red Card for Territorial Licences - Are There Wider Implications?"
