Effect of Specialized IP Courts Analyzed in International IP Institute Report

The International Intellectual Property Institute announced on May 9 the release of a catalog of the world's specialized intellectual property court regimes. The 145-page study reviewed the effects of specialized IP rights courts on the adjudication of IP-related disputes, classifying jurisdictions according to their possession or consideration of specialized IP courts, divisions, tribunals, or judges. "Effective rule of law is essential to the stability of the global intellectual property rights system," Bruce Lehman, IIPI's founder, chairman, and president said in the announcement. "This study provides countries considering implementing specialized court regimes with the accumulated knowledge of the world's most effective intellectual property institutions."
