A recent Dusseldorf Higher Regional Court (OLG) ruling, which reaffirms that the unsolicited use of protected works online is only exempt from copyright violation in cases where protected content is embedded, using inline framing technology, and not in cases where third parties copy and use the works, was unsurprising, but does deliver important legal clarification for rights holders, attorneys told Bloomberg BNA July 9.
