WiLan, Ericsson Strike Licensing Deal, Resolve LTE Patent Fight

Quarterhill Inc.'s patent holding unit, WiLAN, and equipment maker Ericsson have struck a wireless patent licensing agreement that ends disputes between the two parties in district courts, Quarterhill said June 12. The license agreement, the terms of which were not disclosed, resolves pending litigation over wireless Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology patents between WiLAN and Ericsson in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern District of Florida and the Eastern District of Texas, Quarterhill said in a statement.
