Interest in health continues to be a key driver in the food and drinks industry, but the focus is moving from specific "healthy" or "functional" products to a more holistic approach. This is where "personalized nutrition" is becoming a buzzword, and consumers are increasingly looking to create their own healthy eating patterns, based on their personal requirements, lifestyle and health conditions. Over 44% of global food and drinks launches recorded by Innova Market Insights were positioned on a health platform of some kind in 201 6, up from 43% in 2015 and from under 40% in 2013.
