DAMEN UNVEILS NEW TUG AT ITS

Damen Shipyards, The Netherlands, introduced its newest ASD tug at the 2012 International Tug & Salvage Convention in Barcelona, Spain, in May. The ASD Tug 3212 has a new hull form with a higher bow for operations in wave heights up to about 10'. With 6,772 hp (5,050 kW), the ±07'x42' tug has an 85-ton bollard pull and a speed just under 15 knots. The new Damen tug also features a new render/ recover winch, new type of towing bitt and a new super-absorbent bow fender.
