Why do mariners slill have to waste their time getting TWIC cards? For me, the renewal process was just as painful as it was the first time I got a TWIC card. After endless busy signals, I finally managed to get into the maritime center's automated answering system. Still, I was on hold for 30 minutes. So I decided to walk into my local TWTC office without an appointment. I found out that the next available appointment was two weeks out. I decided to wait. Luckily I brought along some reading material. Finally, I was ringer-printed (again) and told that the card would arrive shortly back at the office for me to pick up.
