VT Halter Marine completes largest Bouchard ATB

Bouchard Transportation Co., Melville, N.Y., christened its new articulated tug-barge, the Kim M. Bouchard and B. No. 270, on July 14 in New Orleans. The ATB and a sister unit under construction are the biggest vessels to date in Bouchard's ongoing fleet expansion program, company officials said. Built by VT Halter Marine, the 150'×44'×24', 10,000-hp Kim M. Bouchard and 628'×91'×47', 260,000-bbl. B. No. 270 were launched earlier this year at Halter's Moss Point Marine facility in Escatawpa, Miss., and at its shipyard operations in Pascagoula, Miss., respectively.
