The November 19 North and South Island wool auctions saw across the board price lifts despite a stronger NZ currency. Since the last sale in Napier on November 5, the weighted currency indicator for the main trading currencies has strengthened by 2.2%.rnThis factor has been overridden by strong demand resulting in some substantial price lifts in several sectors. Compared to the last time offered in Christchurch on October 29, Merino fleece was 3-7% dearer, finer mid micron fleece remained firm, with the coarser end 1-2% dearer.
