At the eighth British Wool Sale of the 2009/10 season, which took place on October 14 and offered 1,676,324 kg, a very strong sale saw most prices advance with a clearance of 93%. Compared to the last time sold, Pick and Super Hogs were 3.5% dearer, while all other Pick and Supers were in sellers' favour; Half bred Hogs were 5-7% dearer and Wethers were 2-3% dearer; Crosses were 2-3% dearer; Cheviot Hogs Fully were 10% dearer and Wethers were 2-5% dearer; Best Fine Radnors 2% were dearer, while other Radnors were firm; Welsh were firm; Swaledale were in sellers' favour and Blackface sold very strongly averaging a 10% increase (ranging from 5-18%).
