Spinners pulled off their best shots to attract the buyers to their offer for spring/summer 2010 at Pitti Immagine Filati in Florence (January 28-30). In this they were successful, with buyers praising the colourful displays, the intricacy of new blends, and a lot of shimmer and sparkle. The fact that eco considerations are embedded in operating methods was reinforced by the informative exhibition in the Spazio Ricerca. Pale fine yarns creating semi-transparent knitwear were shown in many collections,rnincluding Ilaria. Sophisticated sparkle and silky effects seemed optimistic and upbeat, sometimes with scintillation in the yarn looking like grains of sand. Merino wool, cashmere, angora, very fine Pima cotton and increasing amounts of linen were blended for different handles and textural effects.
